Anna Bloom discovered her joy for designing jewelry
when she was 5-years old. This joy continued and
has been enhanced throughout her studies in geology
and her 10-years of professional practice as a
geologist. While learning intimate details of the
earth’s materials, such as stones and metal, she
gained a further appreciation for the stones and the
history that they carry with them. She considers
the history of the materials when creating the
composition of each design.
The inspiration for
the design forms of her current line was conceived
while Anna was living in Milan, Italy. She gathered
this inspiration as she closely observed the art and
architecture while roaming the streets of Venice,
Verona, Rome, Assisi, Florence, Cinque Terra, and
Milan. After days of consuming the artistic
delicacies of Italy, she would return to her
apartment and draw sketches that later became the
jewelry pieces that you see here.
Anna designs jewelry as an art form. She takes
the color, texture, form, and reflection into
consideration when composing the arrangements of
semi-precious stones and sterling silver. Through
the use of this artistic medium, she hopes to
amplify the beauty of women.
