Molly Magdalain

StarStrings is a concept developed by singer/songwriter/designer Molly Magdalain.  Like most truly wonderful things, it started as a mistake.  Living in a cabin in Colorado for a summer, she was learning to make jewelry and wanting to finish a project.  The only thing missing was the string for the stones . . . . her guitar was nearby and the strings were getting old.  She didn't want to throw them out, so she used them in a necklace.  The rest is history and it is happening!

In general, StarStrings refers to the idea of string theory - combining physics and music with earth and architecture.  The goal is to appreciate the beauty and meaning in all things. A significant portion of the StarStrings Collection is made from recycled guitar and other instrument strings. All of the strings in the collection have been donated and many of these artworks incorporate found recycled objects.

For years now, Molly Magdalain has been on a rampage about what some call 'the long emergency'.  All of the issues, the threats of global warming and countless other problems can be traced back to a disconnected consciousness.  The human race, specifically Americans, need to get in touch with their true meaning and power and reflect it in their everyday lives, their choices. When this happens, we will no longer be the creators of our own destruction. We will become the creators of an amazing and imaginative world. The thing we fear most is our beauty and power. The beauty is everywhere, in everything and most especially within you. The choice is to embrace it.

Picking out a piece from the StarStrings collection is, in itself, an act of creation. All of the pieces are made with the intentions of self love and empowerment. The designs are wildly varied and loaded with expression.
