Since 1991, Jaime Byrd, a two time
award winning jewelry designer, has
created hair accessories and jewelry that are original in idea as well
as design. Many of her pieces are loosely based on old jewelry and some
designs are influenced by art over hundreds of years old. Jaime has
maintained a fascination with the Victorian and Edwardian eras and has
used this love for the past to guide her through her art while also
combining a contemporary look to her work.
Brass and silver pieces are antiqued and polished resulting in an "old
looking" finish. Many items are then hand painted, and then sealed with
a light coat of lacquer. Genuine Swarovski Austrian crystals, freshwater pearls,
and gemstones are put into settings and then added to create romantic and
vintage inspired items. Great pride is taken in the quality of all her work and
each piece is handcrafted in Jaime’s studio using only superior materials and
workmanship.
Byrd Designs items have been seen in feature films and in Fashion
Magazines including InStyle, Bride, Collectors Edition, and Upscale.
Jaime has participated in and has been invited to do numerous Art shows
on the West Coast for many years before moving to North Carolina in
1999. You can now see her at various Art shows around the South and
Eastern parts of the US.
